Tried my hand at cooking over an open fire inside the shelter.  Not the tastiest looking egg, but it'll do.

New Door (Dec. 16, 2011)

Just finished making a door for the shelter.   Not very pretty, but it works.

Door Design (November 28th, 2011)

Here is the basic design of the door.  It's small (maybe 2 feet high) and will be the only entrance/exit.  This should help the most in retaining heat.

Rain is a Good Thing (November 28th, 2011)

All this rain is proving to be a great test to of my shelter's strength.  Still needs coverage, but added some finishing structural pieces.  Hopefully once this rain passes I can start to add the finishing touches.  Aiming for a finished product by January-February.  We'll see...

Update (November 4th, 2011)

Haven't made much progress recently, still considering a covering material.   Will start back up over the next few weeks.
Probably need to make a few repairs .

Really effective method of lashing. Have used this on most of my project.
